Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson of the Social Democrats is to step down after results from weekend elections showed a conservative bloc eking out a narrow victory. The four-party conservative bloc led by Moderate party chief Ulf Kristersson inched ahead as vote-counting neared its end on Wednesday. Officials reported that 99% of votes from all 6,578 voting districts had been counted. As of the latest count, Kristersson’s alliance was set to take 176 legislative seats, while Andersson’s four-party left-leaning bloc was set to take 173.
