Cologne police said on Wednesday it has detained five people in connection with violence at the Bundesliga club’s Europa Conference League game at French side Nice last month. A total of 16 suspects have been identified so far, all of them already known as “violent criminals.” According to the report, investigators and the police have been searching flats and houses in Cologne, as well as in the neighbouring towns of Hürth, Pulheim and Bergisch Gladbach since the early morning hours.
