The Central Council of Jews in Germany has welcomed a decision by sporting good manufacturer Adidas to end its relationship with US rapper Kanye West over his anti-Semitic comments. “The company’s step was overdue,” President Josef Schuster said in Berlin on Tuesday. “I would have wished for a clear stance earlier from a German company that was also involved in the Nazi regime,” he added. Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, the founders of Adidas, were both members of the Nazi party and collaborated with Adolf Hitler’s regime.
