Europe’s largest copper producer Aurubis said on Friday that a cyberattack had forced the company to shut down its IT systems and disconnect them from the internet as a precaution. The Hamburg-based company offered no further information, such as the possible impact on production. “The IT systems are currently being checked,” the brief statement said. “The extent of the impact is being reviewed.” The MDAX-listed company’s share price plunged more than 7% immediately after the announcement, but recovered most of its losses over the course of the trading day.
