Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has urged changes to Germany’s China policy shortly before Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s inaugural trip to Beijing. “The Chinese political system has changed massively in recent years and thus our China policy must also change,” Baerbock said during a visit to the Central Asian republic of Uzbekistan on Tuesday. Scholz is expected in Beijing on Friday for his first visit to the world’s second-largest economy since he took office.
