The governing liberal and conservative parties in the Czech Republic clearly won run-off elections for the country’s Senate and defended their majority in the parliamentary chamber. A third of the 81 seats in the upper house are up for election every two years. After the end of Saturday’s polls, Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s Spolu electoral alliance (Together) won 18 of the 27 vacant seats.
