Ethiopia’s Yalemzerf Yehualaw ran away from defending champion Joyciline Jepkosgei of Kenya in the closing stages to win the London Marathon women’s race in impressive fashion despite a fall on Sunday. The men’s race followed a similar pattern with Kenyan Amos Kiprutu accelerating in the deciding stages and like Yehualaw getting a first career win at one of the world’s six prestigious Marathon Majors.
