New Jersey ended up reversing plans to send National Guard troops to help Florida after Hurricane Ian’s destruction due to a change in need, Gov. Phil Murphy’s office said. Murphy announced Thursday that the Garden State was deploying 135 members of its National Guard and 40 military and support vehicles to Florida to help respond to the storm, which has killed 47 people in the Sunshine State and left a wide swath of damage.
