A court in Munich convicted footballer Jérôme Boateng on Wednesday of assault on appeal and imposed a fine totalling €1.2 million ($1.19 million). He was convicted of two counts of bodily harm, compared to only one in his initial trial. Boateng had refused to testify in his appeal trial over accusations of assault and rejected a court offer for an agreement.
