It’s the third consecutive season that the two have faced each other in the competition, with Real coming out on top of last season’s final thanks to Vinicius Junior’s second half goal. The two also went head-to-head in the 2018 final – Real emerging 3-1 victors on that occasion – and they also faced off in 2021 – Liverpool again losing out 3-1 on aggregate at the quarter-final stage.
