Several thousand supporters of the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) turned out for an anti-government protest on Saturday in front of the Reichstag building, home to the lower house of parliament, before moving through Berlin’s city centre. The protesters zeroed in on Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s measures to deal with soaring energy costs and his government’s environmental policies.
