German professional football player Jérôme Boateng is again appealing his conviction for assaulting a former girlfriend, a Munich district court and the public prosecutor’s office confirmed to dpa on Wednesday. The Bavarian Supreme Court must now decide whether there may have been legal errors in Boateng’s verdict. Boateng, a former German national player who was with the World Cup winning squad in 2014, was this month convicted on appeal by a court in Munich of assaulting his ex-girlfriend during a vacation in the Caribbean in 2018.
