By David Wetzel New York (Knewz) — Three fishermen fought off sharks as they were stranded in the water for more than 24 hours before being recused by the United States Coast Guard off the Louisiana coast. The three fishermen were reported overdue by a family member on Oct. 8, and the people were rescued on Oct. 9 in the afternoon. Crews from the Coast Guard Station Venice, Air Station Corpus Christi and Air Station New Orleans searched an area of 1,250 miles before rescuing the three fishermen.
