A bomb rocked a busy Istanbul shopping street on Sunday, leaving at least six people dead and dozens more wounded, in what President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan denounced as a “vile attack.” Erdoğan said a bomb was detonated on Istanbul’s popular Istiklal Avenue, a pedestrian street that is one of the most famous in the city, but that it was too soon to say if the attack had a terrorist motive.
