German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his predecessor, Angela Merkel, signed a book of condolence in Germany on Tuesday in the wake of the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II. Merkel and Scholz entered their names separately at the British Embassy in Berlin. “In silent memory of a great European and promoter of German-British friendship,” Scholz wrote late on Tuesday.
