As many as 2,000 people took to the streets of the German city of Leipzig on Saturday for a demonstration against rising energy and food prices. Local police said that between 1,000 and 2,000 people had attended despite the fact that organizers – 40 groups including trade unions, climate activists and the Left Party – had registered 10,000 participants.
