Autumn may be here but that doesn’t mean your veggie patch has nothing left to give. While you might be harvesting the last of this year’s tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers, experts from a German gardening academy say the vacated spots are ideal for planting a last batch of lettuce, including leaf lettuce, endive or Batavia lettuce. Chinese cabbage, sugar loaf chicory and spinach are also suitable for late planting.
