By Johann M Cherian and Bansari Mayur Kamdar (Reuters) -UK stocks closed lower on Friday, hurt by the risk-off mood gripping global markets and weaker-than-expected domestic retail sales data that highlighted growing recession risks at home. The blue-chip FTSE 100 slipped 0.6% while the domestically-focussed mid-cap FTSE 250 shed 0.5%. Both the indexes marked sharp weekly losses as appetite for equities worsened worldwide on worries that aggressive monetary policy tightening by global central banks would choke growth.
