Tens of thousands of people demonstrated in Paris on Sunday against French President Emmanuel Macron’s policies. Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s Left Party had called for the march to protest the burgeoning cost of living and the government’s lack of action on the climate crisis. French news channel BFMTV cited the organizers as saying that some 140,000 people took to the streets of the French capital. Organizers had only expected about 30,000 people to turn up.
