The Jersey City City Council is expected to approve a 2022 municipal budget Tuesday that eclipses last year’s spending plan by nearly $100 million. The $724.8 million budget is $30 million more than initially introduced in June, with a $10 million increase in the amount to be raised by taxes on property owners. The average homeowner was already bracing for an increase of more than $1,000 over last year’s taxes. It could not be determined how much that figure will increase.
