The planned Chinese acquisition of a stake in a container terminal in the port of Hamburg has caused a rift in the German government, sources confirmed to dpa on Thursday. The chancellery of Olaf Scholz – who was formerly the mayor of Hamburg – is pushing ahead with the deal, while six ministries involved in reviewing the acquisition are opposed to letting it go forward.
