Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus will miss the World Cup in Qatar as it was already expected, the player confirmed to broadcasters Sky on Saturday. “The World Cup is just around the corner, so unfortunately the timing won’t quite work out,” he said. “For me, the priority now is that my knee heals completely,” he added. Neuhaus suffered a partial tear of his cruciate ligament in September and only recently returned to individual training. However, he said it was already clear to him for some time that the he wouldn’t make it in time of the World Cup, which starts November 20.
