Preliminary figures for the World Cup opening match in Qatar have showed an increase in viewers compared to the corresponding match in Russia four years ago, football governing body FIFA said on Wednesday. According to a statement, an average of 3.3 million viewers in Ecuador watched their team kick-off the tournament against hosts Qatar on Sunday.
