DEAR MISS MANNERS: I am in my 70s and have known some of my friends a long, long time. The problems of old age are starting to creep up on us. Some are now widows, some no longer drive and some are getting forgetful. Last week, one friend called to plan an outing that would exclude one couple because the husband, frankly, now requires help and is no longer fun.
