By Richard Horgan Los Angeles (Knewz) — There are only about 3,000 Greater One-Horned Rhinos left in the wild. So it’s big news for animal conservationists when one is born in captivity. On Oct. 14, at the Chester Zoo in England, 15-year-old mom Asha delivered a female calf that weighed 110 pounds at birth. When fully grown, the baby rhino will tip the scales at around 1.7 tons. Another wild statistic is that the typical pregnancy period for this species is 15 months. The zoo released additional footage of their new arrival late this week.
